Call For Format Festival 2011 Projects
Format Festival, 11th – 27th February 2011
Due Date Project Proposals – 1st November 2010
Format is a two week festival of DIY, artist run projects and participatory culture. In 2011, we’ll be operating out of two venues – Format Space at 15 Peel St and Magazine Gallery on Clubhouse Lane.
If you’ve got art, music, film, publications, walking tours, weird stuff, performances, lectures, ideas for workshops or whatever else, and you’d like to expose it to the good people of Adelaide, please send us 1 A4 page at contact@format.net.au including information about your proposed project, what kind of space would best suit it, and your technical requirements.
Label your application “FORMAT 2011 PROPOSAL” and if possible include some relevant images of previous art/projects/whatever you’ve been involved in.
Format is able to provide the venue, basic lighting and equipment, catering and awesome ‘party good times’ crowds. Unfortunately as our budget is as yet unconfirmed, we cannot guarantee you artist fees yet – it’s DIY in the worst sense of the word. We look forward to hearing your ideas!
yours,
The Format Collective Inc.

PLUS an installation by Elle Freak in project space The Changeroom. For those conscientious readers, more information on each of these shows can be found here http://micurl.com/zrguyz

2. Collect: opens 14th July at 6pm – 6pm, running until 28th July
Every person that walks past as you stand still in the street has a collected history; stories, insecurities, failures, loves, passions, vivid and fading memories. Objects, places, cracks witness time passing and have been present or affected by events, some profound and some unnoticed. Found in the streets and in periods of introspection about conversations and observations, this installation of images, objects and sounds at Format are an arrangement of found and collected material with inherent histories and scars that shape the present.
Christmas in July Market
June 28, 2010
So Format: Winterfest is over, but it’s still cold – it’s not even the depths of Winter yet, Format, geez…
We agree.
So come along to our Christmas in July Market day.
The venue will be filled with bakers, creators, and candlestick makers. But most importantly, mulled wine and a forest of Christmas trees.
We want to shamelessly transport you to the Northern Hemisphere, with fogged up windows, steaming drinks, festive cheer, and rosy cheeks.

If YOU’D like to participate, please email
contact@format.net.au
by the 16th of July (get your advent calendars out)
stating your wares and to get more details
We welcome food, clothes, radical craft, drink – basically anything you’d find at a Winter Christmas market. Google them if you’ve never been.

This is also another fundraising event to get us to the real Christmas.
So help out by selling – or buying!
